Euthanasia, Censorship, Abortion, Cosmetic, Surgery and Cloning.

English Syntax
The objective of the course is twofold: to study some of the syntactic structures found

in English and to see how linguists approach the study of syntax. The course will
scrutinize the differences between well-formed and ill-formed structures. It will also deal
with relationships between different structures. Moreover, the course focuses upon
relationships between syntactic structures and meanings.

Students will be provided with explanations of the basic concepts and recent
theoretical ideas of syntactic structures. Eventually, the course will provide students with
the necessary tools for understanding and applying the foundational concepts of English
syntax.

Pedagogical Grammar
The course is designed to provide students with an understanding of the formal,

semantic and pragmatic aspects of the English language by exploring teaching practices
and lessons or materials that are based on English grammar. The course will demonstrate
a positive awareness of the importance and complexity of language with special
reference to English language. Finally, it will foster attitudes of confidence in
approaching linguistic analysis and confidence in one’s ability to carry out effective and
productive lessons.
