Oral Proficiency (C)
   The rationale of the course is enhancing students’ skills of communication. They are

expected to express themselves about highly complex and unpredictable topics in terms
of examining their functional – notional approach to language use. Students are
expected to address increasingly complex topics such as “Abortion”, “Euthanasia” and
“The Function of the Press as a Democratic Tool of Communication”.

   Advanced English Grammar
   The objective of the course is to enable students to develop their own grammatical
abilities through the correct use of appropriate grammatical structures at advanced level
of analysis and description.
   Moreover, the course aims at discussing, analyzing, and paraphrasing the patterns of
English structure that are typical of textbooks, professional journals, and newspapers
that they will encounter during their studies and careers.

Approaches to Teaching English as a Second Language
   The course is designed to provide an overview and elucidation of eight different

language teaching methods and approaches that have achieved international
prominence. Those approaches and methods are taught /learned according to their
underlying theories of language and language learning; the learning objectives, the
syllabus model used; the roles of teachers, learners, and materials within the method or
approach; and the classroom procedures and techniques that the method substantiates.
