Language and gender studies will also be considered in the broader context of cultural
studies, as cognate with domains such as language and race or language and nationalism.

Survey of English literature is an introductory course which focuses upon the early
pieces of literary heritage which constituted the hallmarks of artistic achievement since
Geoffrey Chaucer. The course will highlight the general setting and the flourishing of
literary works so that students become aware of the development of various literary
genres- dramatic, poetic, and verse.

The course will enable students to scrutinize the distinguished artistic achievements
of the early period. Thy will acquire the fundamental concept so that they internalize the
tools for analyzing and assessing literary works.
